As an alliance of international Marine-Related Institutions, IAMRI is not only contribute in international science and technology research but also the bridge of communication between its members. It helps to deepen the understanding of all the members and promote cooperative development.

The aim of IAMRI is furthering the understanding and knowledge of Marine-Related science, subjects and new technologies. It is dedicated to continuing this through direct communication and discussions within the Marine-Related universities and institutions. And also through the communication and discussions between the members, more and more international cooperation has been promoted. 

According to the articles of association, IAMRI will hold the General Meeting/ Steering Committee Meeting once a year. Through the General Meeting/ Steering Committee Meeting, all of the members will exchange their newest information and suggestions. It will help to set a stage of further cooperation.
